So for the first time in a while I get to chill on a sunday with no commitments whatsoever. I got my food set on continuous, my laptop for my notes and my sky remote firmly in my hand as I chill watching TV. I flick to Trouble and catch up with some sitcom re-runs only to hear the channel announce that on April 1st there'll be no more Trouble TV. What!?! Where am I gonna go to when Im bored? The one channel that allowed decent sitcom imports some airtime is getting replaced by more Living TV...booo! One on One Gone, Martin Gone, Girlfriends Gone, All Of Us Gone, Fresh Prince Gone, How I Met Your Mother Gone, My Wife & Kids Gone. Now I gotta watch size zeros screaming at my screen; I just wanna throw a cheeseburger at them.

If you havent seen ""Diary of A Tired Black Man" yet watch it, not for the acting but for the comments in between scenes. Hilarious. I finally got to watch it last night on DVD and it was interesting. quite thought provoking too, definitely an argument starter. I'll be raising a question from it as part of my debate week on my blog this week. Check the original youtube clip that got the director a movie deal by clicking here. You wanna release an album with no hype then do it like Mos Def. Rather than get involved in some kinda beef track or try something innovative Def kept it simple and let his "words" do the talking. He joins an elite group of artists whose albums Im looking forward to this year including Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Ginuwine, Chipmunk, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Teedra Moses even. May 30th will be the first part to my new script for the blog. This one is likely to be done in advance so there's more chance of it actually being on time (maybe). So gear up, 8 weeks to go! Gone For A Minute Now Im Back Again

"It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you". Let me just quickly shake off this blog rust.........aight Lets Go!! Now technically this break in blogs and internet use was not my decision since my router decided to heat up and just reject my attempts at logging on but it's opened my eyes to how pervasive the net is; and it's kinda scary. I realised how much it is incorporated in our everyday routine; the average person I know will use the net 60 hours a week which I guess isnt too bad when you consider the 168 hours in a week. HOWEVER, ask yourselves how many of those hours are spent doing something productive?

I imagine it's the same..ish scenario for you....You switch on your PC or Laptop, get frustrated for a moment having to wait for all your programs and downloads to load up, your screen is filled with so many folders and software that you can barely see your background image, you click on Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer or Safari and your on. You get the tabs ready for multiple windows and your life begins..or ends. First it's the Email (hotmail, yahoo, gmail etc) then the social networking sites (facebook, twitter, myspace) maybe a couple of blogs (Perez Hilton, YBF, Bossip......Pbleepd Blog, The Wider Perspective..ahem) and then your preferences (Sky Sports, Asos, The Times etc). Or with alot of people these days it's straight to facebook..Haha You know Im right! It's a continuous cycle and under my frustrations of not being able to come online I was quietly happy to be away at the same time.

When one technological habit fails (the internet) another one begins (TV) and so I spent a week in front of my Sky Box watching sitcoms, dramas, sports, documentaries and the news. Random questions: Why have Channel U changed their name to Channel AKA? Where's Trouble + 1? Why do BET have no UK programmes? Who the hell are all these new people on Eastenders? (I havent seen it since Grant left again) Why does everyone love Hollyoaks? it has the worse acting ever. Why does Paris Hilton UK TV deals before me? Why are Fox News allowed to broadcast politics when they are clearly against Obama?......

Under those TV frustrations I found pleasure in watching some random programmes. I remember Ondo Lady blogging a while back about some show called Stylista; and while Im not into fashion/modelling reality shows it's actually a decent show (I can watch it and still retain my masculinity right?) Soccer AM is still the best morning show created (pssh Live and Kicking). 24 destroys anything else on TV and Top Gear is the shining light in the darkness that is Emmerdale. But above all of this I was glad to see Angie Le Mar's "The Brothers" stage show on MTV Base last night; warranted the change from Richard Blackwood to Harvey was weird but its good to see something creative and different on TV as well as a modern show with a predominantly black cast. The acting was abit "meh" in parts but the plot seems good enough. Lets hope it opens doors to more possibilities because there is a big hole in the TV World that needs to be filled.

Anyway briefly back to the initial topic, put down the mouse or take your fingers off the touchpad and pick up another habit. Take some time off the net and do something else....anything, you'll be surprised to find how much we're consumed by it.

Michael Jackson tickets were sold out quickly!! but if anyone's willing to buy a V.I.P ticket for any of the tour dates this summer at the O2 Arena which includes a backstage pass, food and what not than I have a link to one available. It costs £1,000 (whoa!! yes I no) Im not saying the price is pretty but I know people who are selling theirs for as silly as £15,000 on ebay so this is a bargain. "Mehhh I hate the new home page?" "Waaah what happened to my old facebook?" "Argh! why do they keep changing it?" I've been hearing these statements all day in a failed attempt by friends to cheer me up through conversation (ARGH MAN UTD!!). Seems as though everyone hates the new face of facebook and it's kinda funny because no matter how much y'all complain about it you will STILL go on it everyday and it will NEVER change. Just embrace the annoyance yet benefit that is facebook and expect the unexpected because unfortunately for multi-million to billion dollar businesses they mistake growth for change and dont understand the term "if it aint broke dont fix it". Im 4 months into my facebook hiatus but have decided to make a comeback in the near future when business is running...maybe. I say maybe because it's such a potent and popular site but man it's annoying as Julian Smith has pointed out below.

I Think It Would Be Fair To Say Im "Pbleepd"

It's a double entendre but Im definitely not refering to the company Im co-running; believe Im literally Pissed!! Constant superlatives have been coming out my mouth for the last 2 hours. Im just gonna give myself time to vent frustrations because I just witnessed an absolute shambles. The scoreline:

MANCHESTER UNITED 1 - 4 LIVERPOOL

WHAT!?!?! Im a passionate football fan and when I see my team perform in such a shambolic way I dont know whether to break something or beat someone, but they both seem pretty reasonable right now. Argh!!! Shout out to Elijah, Ikes and Mas who have doubled my anger in the last hour or so by letting me know how they feel about today's result. It's probably one of the worst feelings in the world to have someone who is always reliable to mess up on such an important occasion, Nemandja Vidic (in the pic) is that reliable person who shegged today. I cant stay mad at him but it's gonna take a while for me to forgive a performance which rivals George Bush's presidency and London Transport...utter s***!

Thats my mood done for the day. Im off to listen to Speedy's Comedy Corner & The Foxxhole to cheer myself up. They say you should never go to sleep angry but I always watch Match of the Day so mark Saturday 14th March as my first negative day in 2009. Im so pissed!!

An Ode To Sarcasm

"Sometimes I need what only you can provide, your absence"

It's what keeps me going everyday, it's what keeps me sane and it's certainly what keeps me laughing. Everybody raise your drinks to the delight that is sarcasm. I dont portray it that much during my blogs because I'm usually in some kinda serious mode but those who speak to me know that sarcasm is my oxygen. Its well known to be the ice-breaker in conversation and if I dont have at least 5 major outbursts of it during the day then my world is lost.

Regardless of what's in the video above sarcasm is not something you can learn or teach, it's simply in your brains and veins. Some pick it up as soon as they're born (not true) and others pick it up at a later date after it is triggered by the stupidity or clumsiness of someone around them. If you don't have it, dont try and become sarcastic or you'll misuse it and end up alone, hurt or broke. Its only for the chosen few.



Try not to judge sarcasm by the proposed Oxford dictionary or Wikipedia definitions or you'll be under the impression that I do it to hurt people. Instead think of it as a cheeky form of address and habit that I wouldnt give up for the world. Its a form of endearment (no it aint) that I use on all. I dont do it for any reason but simply because I can. A big shout out to Louise who is the UK queen of sarcasm.

2009 is flying by fast, coming up to one quarter during the year and I've done alot yet it feels I aint done enough. Im not gonna say Life is short (because there's nothing longer) but if you have plans, make it happen because time waits for no-one.

Been bumping Drake's mixtape for two weeks now and Im convinced he should of made this an official album. The dude is mad talented and has the double threat of being as good a singer as he is a rapper. Didnt know too much about him apart from a track I downloaded in 2007 with him collaborating with Little Brother and Dwele (Listen here) but after hearing this along with his two previous mixtapes the "So Far Gone" statement is justified. If you havent heard it by now, please do. Drake - So Far Gone.

The Foxxhole & Speedy's Comedy Corner are easily the best radio shows out right now. Jamie Foxx, Claudia Jordan, Johnny Mack, Speedy, Corey Holcomb and many more are split between two radio shows to give you jokes, guests, trivia and more in a 2-hour and 1-hour set respectively. If it wasnt for youtube I would be lost tryna figure out how to listen to it every week, too funny. The shows are on Wednesdays and Fridays and get posted up on youtube a few hours later. Shanti made a good comment on her blog about celeb couples in the limelight so instead of dwelling on the recent rumour mill regarding their reconcilliation maybe it's best for people to wait until Chris Brown and Rihanna actually speak themselves.

I wrote an article last summer about how R'n'B is dead; I still stand by that statement but would like to see the likes of Anthony Hamilton and Jazmine Sullivan get more respect/limelight. I guess Anthony's more for the older heads while Jazmine's grammy snub shouldnt have been a surprise since R'n'B isnt considered anything without a club track. And nearly 3 years on Im still wondering why B.Cox and Trey didnt finish the track in the vid below.

Quick Question

Gotta love work; instead of reaching company deadlines we found ourselves enthralled in a debate over the theory surrounding the 2 for one deal. As usual there was a divide and difference of opinion between the male and female contingent, we argued for hours and now the debate is over nothing has been concluded so Im bringing this question out in the open. Is it really that wrong for the male to use a 2 for 1 voucher/coupon to pay for dinner on any date let alone the first? Now I know from the get-go that sounds amazingly cheap and wrong (and funny) but think about it, if you're out on a date and the option arises to get whatever it is you require for half price so to speak then wouldnt you expect to take it? Some call it cheap (the girls) but realistically it's just being resourceful...right? Let me know your thoughts please!

I'm just gonna jump straight into it, Chris Brown is a wasteman!! I decided to wait until there was confirmation of the full incident and it has now come to my attention that not only did Chris Brown assault Rihanna and turn himself in but he assaulted her with a deadly weapon! (which is yet to be confirmed). I dont care whether the girl gave him Herpes, told him he aint shit, said she's sleeping with someone else or she disrespected him in any kinda way you should NEVER!!! put your hands on a woman. You can shake her but dont hit her. I've lost tons of respect for him and the fact that he himself had to experience that same type of behaviour when he was younger makes this somehow worse. I blame Money and Fame getting into his head but there should be no excuses. Anyway here's a crappy TMZ video of Chris Brown being booked into custody.

Award Season

The Grammies was probably something I shouldn't of stayed up for. It was ok but nothing spectacular but they did a good job filling in the spaces where Chris Brown and Rihanna were meant to perform. Lil Wayne and Coldplay picked up a few gongs as expected but I was baffled to see Jennifer Hudson pick up the best r'n'b album. I mean I know she's had a bad year and all but regardless there were others more deserved of it (Jazmine Sullivan), but I wont dwell on it because her voice is fire! A couple of decent performances including the "Swagger Like Us" Performance which can be seen by clicking here.

Congrats to Estelle for winning a grammy along with other UK artists including Duffy, Coldplay and Adele. Looks like UK music is finally showing forward movement. Speaking of UK and forward movement, congrats to Noel Clarke for winning the rising star award at the BAFTAS. Now hopefully young writers, directors and producers can get more exposure. I'll be there, fingers crossed!

The Demise of Candy...?

It's a crowd pleaser, an uplifter, a classic; Cameo's Candy has long been the answer to a boring event but is it beginning to lose it's spark? I remember 5 years ago back in my first year at University and just the sound of the bass guitar and drum pattern in the intro would spurr everyone out their seats or prompt them out of conversations to go left left, right right, back back etc etc. Even the quietest of the quiet and the goons were caught having rhythm. However now it seems the song has been overplayed, over done...over! From when it became a regular spin for DJ's on radio it lost it's nostalgia and now the dance routine has become just routine!

I dont go out as much as I used to so I still get a small urge to do the dance when it comes on, I even made my own version...Im just that good haha. But my advice to DJs is let the tune rest for like a year then bring it back, and stop playing it on radio amongst modern hip-hop and r'n'b tracks...thats just stupid! Nonetheless it will defo be getting a play at my wedding reception. I was hoping to get the scene from The Best Man on here with the dance but youtube have done a good job removing it, ah well.

Should I Pay Seven Pounds To watch Seven Pounds?

I dont know what it is about this film but Seven Pounds has got people going crazy....literally writing blogs, notes, diary entries about the movie. I thought it was raining outside my local cinema when I saw all the wet patches on the floor but according to a frequent bystander that was the tears of all the viewers that had stumbled across the movie. Whoa! Am I missing something? Every girl I speak to it's the same old question.

Im a big Will Smith fan, he's definitely an aspiring and influential character in my books but even I couldn't defend his last two movies. I wasnt feeling Hancock or I Am Legend so I was cautious about seeing this movie but it's got people bugging. Even guys are getting all emotional about it, grown ass men just taking Kleenex Ltd away from recession and into double figures. So Im gonna see it this Saturday and see what the hype is. I've got a right mind to go with my friends so I can catch them slipping on camera crying. I cant get emotional to that extent through movies. I even laughed at the end of Titanic, I mean come on they could of swapped turns rowing each other along the sea..no? The closest I ever came to tears was watching A Time To Kill, that closing speech got to me for a slight second.

So Im gonna watch it this weekend and see what all the fuss is about, this better be good!!! and I will not cry...(on purpose).

You ever get those feelings where you just want out? Those tiny thoughts in your mind that are telling you to go travel; I've been getting that alot recently. I've got love for England, after all the NHS is free; but there's this repetitive, tedious and sometimes boring nature of this nation that makes me wanna get out of here and explore more.



Not just a holiday, an exploration. I wanna work abroad and experience different lifestyles, eat different foods on a daily basis and hear/create stories of country's cultures. I want that Miami feeling: Relaxation mixed with multi-cultural lifestyle, mixed with good food, mixed with the occasional hot women, mixed with friendly people, mixed with good weather. I've never been homesick which only furthers my needs to go out and see what the world has on offer.

I promised myself that I'd visit every continent before I bid farewell to the world. North America, Europe, Asia & Africa have been done but I'll do them again regardless. Japan, U.S, Ghana, Amsterdam, France only! booo! I need a vacation man! haha! I cant be the only one having these thoughts in my head. I wanna see the hyped countries and the quiet countries. I wanna take taxis to destinations and I wanna hike to destinations. I'm being a grandad before my time but I just feel like while I'm young I might aswell do what I can before I relax and reflect on my experiences.Im hitting up Sweden and Mexico this year so should be an interesting time. Sometimes I think I should say less and just do it but it aint that easy when I've got upcoming bills to pay. I will travel sooner or later for a longer period but let me just see where my current projects lead me.

Argh! I woke up this morning thinking I had another day off and I look out my window to see that the roads are clear for transportation to commerce. Son of a F****** Orange! I was hoping and praying TFL and National Rail could give me the news I needed but nope, trains are running with minor delays so I'm up and awake to get ready for work. Gotta take the Bus and Three Trains today ("conveniently" the ones that are working) I aint happy!

Updates on my week long vegetarian expedition coming later on today. And I know some of you are waiting on part 18 and 19, they'll be up tonight as a sunday post, so scroll down in the late evening for that. Just heard that despite Surrey being -8 degrees, some kids still have to go to primary school there (just like yesterday)...now that headteacher is a son of a F****** orange! It's too cold for this, Im not in the mood, gonna be sporting the unfriendly frown all day listening to straight hip-hop, volumes turned up!!

Snowed In!!!

Hehe I havent felt so giddy in a long while; the snow is so thick in my area that all transportation is rendered useless. You know what that means? (Snowball fight!!...nah Im not tryna catch pnuemonia out here) I get to be a bum for the day (cue well constructed dance move), so apart from continuing writing my script (not the blog one, the £million$ one) I think Im gonna be watching a few DVDs with the family. This is one of those rare occassions where we are all together in the house at the same time so I'm gonna try and cherish it because Im outta here soon. Speaking of movies I saw a couple trailers roaming around the Tube last night during the brilliant SuperBowl (What a game) that have got me waiting in anticipation for the Summer. I'm a film nut, whatever the genre (except teen horrors and chick flicks....ok I saw She's All That but it was with my sister man!) so Im looking forward to the following movies this year. Watch them, they're short trailers!

I'm a big fan of Kanye from his production to his innovation but there has to be a line that's drawn. Now each is to their own style no doubt but how can you tell me that the pic below is "forward fashion"?. I refuse to believe it!!! Sometimes I feel like just because an artist does something, people automatically think it's right, cool, chic, in-style etc. Thats a lie!!! Now I will expect to see alot more people dress like this which is fine if they like it but I for one can tell you that those guys below look like out of work Power Rangers.

IT'S MORPHIN TIME!!!

I have a feeling this is more of a DVD typa film but it looks pretty decent, I wanna see Next Day Air. Mainly because I need a laugh and another glimpse of Lauren London. Too fine!

If anyone can find me Marc Dorsey's "Crave" album or a source to it, please let me know, I need a track off it for a short film I'm doing. I lost it a couple years back when the family moved houses, and it's nowhere to be found! It would be easy to just get it off Ebay or Amazon but I honestly cant be asked to lol.

Update on short film: ok so now we're in the process of doing prices and locations. I need to do another casting call too, it should be done hopefully in time for summer film festivals so stay tuned and keep supporting. POUND 4 POUND coming this summer be ready.

Midnight Snacks

I dont even know why Im blogging this but it's been on my mind for the last 5 hours. I've got a craving for two slices of strawberry cheesecake. I used to pick up a two piece every other night at Uni but since I've graduated for some reason the urge went. That was right up until 5 hours ago. Im at the CEOs meeting for pbleepd (We're going national baby...one step at a time) and one of them decides to bring out two slices of cheesecake they got from Burger King (didnt even know they had them). We have a problem, two slices...three people....everyone's hungry. I got the short end of the stick because I didnt ask for food when I came in so I had to watch them purposely make "mmm" noises in front of me while eating. Clowns, I know one of them's lactose intolerant too!! Nonetheless I need to get some cheesecake, Im heading off to the 24 hour Tescos!!.

Vegetarian For A Week?

Im gonna try and go a whole week without eating meat as part of a bet and blog the experience. I dont wanna hear nothing about "thats easy" y'all clearly dont know me. I love meat, Im african, what do you expect? Pizza?...meat feast! Patti?....meat!! Favourite Comedy?....Meat the parents!! I'm all over it! I told my friend about what Im gonna do and he spat his drink in my face in the process of laughing, so after I slapped his fade backwards I made a bet. Next week Monday for 7 days Broadband is gonna be a vegetarian. Still undecided on what type of vegetarian Im gonna be but nonetheless meat is forbidden. Stay Tuned.

As I've pointed out in articles on the pbleepd website, blogs on here and the pbleepd blog I'm always watching TV. If it's not a sitcom, it's a documentary, if it's not a movie then it's 24 (best show ever). Every now and again between parts I'm able to be captured by a stand-out advert. It seems with the pervasive influence of the internet, companies have been forced into making more creative adverts to attract viewers to telelvision. There's the simplistic yet somehow amazing Cadbury's advert, the inspiring if not eye-opening condom ads, those intriguing and close enough porn Marks and Spencers Food Adverts and the new Virgin Atlantic advert picked up on by Ondo Lady. Now we have the uplifting and smartly created new T-Mobile advert. The idea to do a live filming of random dancers at the London Liverpool Street Station this past Monday Morning was a risk that worked well; and through one great-take the company was able to show the advert the very next day, all this week it's been the talk of TV (behind a certain president elect). It's corny at best but I for one wouldnt have minded pitching that idea to a few companies, after all it probably cost less than you'd think. Enjoy!
