I'm just gonna jump straight into it, Chris Brown is a wasteman!! I decided to wait until there was confirmation of the full incident and it has now come to my attention that not only did Chris Brown assault Rihanna and turn himself in but he assaulted her with a deadly weapon! (which is yet to be confirmed). I dont care whether the girl gave him Herpes, told him he aint shit, said she's sleeping with someone else or she disrespected him in any kinda way you should NEVER!!! put your hands on a woman. You can shake her but dont hit her. I've lost tons of respect for him and the fact that he himself had to experience that same type of behaviour when he was younger makes this somehow worse. I blame Money and Fame getting into his head but there should be no excuses. Anyway here's a crappy TMZ video of Chris Brown being booked into custody.

Award Season

The Grammies was probably something I shouldn't of stayed up for. It was ok but nothing spectacular but they did a good job filling in the spaces where Chris Brown and Rihanna were meant to perform. Lil Wayne and Coldplay picked up a few gongs as expected but I was baffled to see Jennifer Hudson pick up the best r'n'b album. I mean I know she's had a bad year and all but regardless there were others more deserved of it (Jazmine Sullivan), but I wont dwell on it because her voice is fire! A couple of decent performances including the "Swagger Like Us" Performance which can be seen by clicking here.

Congrats to Estelle for winning a grammy along with other UK artists including Duffy, Coldplay and Adele. Looks like UK music is finally showing forward movement. Speaking of UK and forward movement, congrats to Noel Clarke for winning the rising star award at the BAFTAS. Now hopefully young writers, directors and producers can get more exposure. I'll be there, fingers crossed!

The Demise of Candy...?

It's a crowd pleaser, an uplifter, a classic; Cameo's Candy has long been the answer to a boring event but is it beginning to lose it's spark? I remember 5 years ago back in my first year at University and just the sound of the bass guitar and drum pattern in the intro would spurr everyone out their seats or prompt them out of conversations to go left left, right right, back back etc etc. Even the quietest of the quiet and the goons were caught having rhythm. However now it seems the song has been overplayed, over done...over! From when it became a regular spin for DJ's on radio it lost it's nostalgia and now the dance routine has become just routine!

I dont go out as much as I used to so I still get a small urge to do the dance when it comes on, I even made my own version...Im just that good haha. But my advice to DJs is let the tune rest for like a year then bring it back, and stop playing it on radio amongst modern hip-hop and r'n'b tracks...thats just stupid! Nonetheless it will defo be getting a play at my wedding reception. I was hoping to get the scene from The Best Man on here with the dance but youtube have done a good job removing it, ah well.

You'll see from my profile and my playlist that Neo Soul gets nothing but love from me. I listen to it for every occasion because nothing beats the sound. This week's choice is a neo-soul track that isn't as throwbackish (new word shh) as others but it still takes me back far enough to remember good times. Here's the classic track from a classic group (UK Stand up!) that need to get back together. Nonetheless I'll be looking forward to Marsha's individual album, her mixtape was kinda dope!

Should I Pay Seven Pounds To watch Seven Pounds?

I dont know what it is about this film but Seven Pounds has got people going crazy....literally writing blogs, notes, diary entries about the movie. I thought it was raining outside my local cinema when I saw all the wet patches on the floor but according to a frequent bystander that was the tears of all the viewers that had stumbled across the movie. Whoa! Am I missing something? Every girl I speak to it's the same old question.

Girl: Oh My God Have you seen Seven Pounds?
Broadband: Nope
Girl: OMG, OMG, OMG
Broadband: Calm down he's my god too
Girl: I cried at the end, it was so emotional. I dare you not to cry

Im a big Will Smith fan, he's definitely an aspiring and influential character in my books but even I couldn't defend his last two movies. I wasnt feeling Hancock or I Am Legend so I was cautious about seeing this movie but it's got people bugging. Even guys are getting all emotional about it, grown ass men just taking Kleenex Ltd away from recession and into double figures. So Im gonna see it this Saturday and see what the hype is. I've got a right mind to go with my friends so I can catch them slipping on camera crying. I cant get emotional to that extent through movies. I even laughed at the end of Titanic, I mean come on they could of swapped turns rowing each other along the sea..no? The closest I ever came to tears was watching A Time To Kill, that closing speech got to me for a slight second.

So Im gonna watch it this weekend and see what all the fuss is about, this better be good!!! and I will not cry...(on purpose).

The "Break" Up (Thought Of The Day)

Hmmm what can I say that hasn't already been said about this particular junction in a relationship? Ah yes thats it, in a professor's accent "the proposed "break" in the middle of a relationship is merely an excuse to breakaway from the real decision that you have to make" The Question: Are you gonna work it out or are you gonna end it? You see when couples choose to have a break it's obviously for good...ish intentions but 9 times out of 10 the one who asks for the break is just afraid to make that difficult decision and answer the question.

The truth is when we're with someone and the relationship fizzles out we sometimes take a break ironically as an act of fear for what the world may offer us afterwards. We think that maybe if we were to leave our partners we wont find anything better out there and so instead of making the break permanent we make it just. But we must take a look at the wider perspective; (badoom chi) do you really want to sacrifice your fear of being alone for a bad relationship? It's a simple question with a difficult answer ( or vice-versa) and eventually you then find yourself back to the battle between our dear old friends Head and Heart.

Hmmm and lets not forget the other use of the term break. The chance to explore different, options; we cant be selfish and call it a break just so we prevent our partner from exploring there own options, it HAS to be a break-up......Im not insensitive in thinking that a break is solely for individual gain but it rarely benefits both parties because one person is usually left out in the loop. Despite it's extremeties it works out better in the long run to decide on one or the other. That's the difficult but right decision. Time to cool off....yes, a break....no! So...what you gonna do?

You ever get those feelings where you just want out? Those tiny thoughts in your mind that are telling you to go travel; I've been getting that alot recently. I've got love for England, after all the NHS is free; but there's this repetitive, tedious and sometimes boring nature of this nation that makes me wanna get out of here and explore more.



Not just a holiday, an exploration. I wanna work abroad and experience different lifestyles, eat different foods on a daily basis and hear/create stories of country's cultures. I want that Miami feeling: Relaxation mixed with multi-cultural lifestyle, mixed with good food, mixed with the occasional hot women, mixed with friendly people, mixed with good weather. I've never been homesick which only furthers my needs to go out and see what the world has on offer.

I promised myself that I'd visit every continent before I bid farewell to the world. North America, Europe, Asia & Africa have been done but I'll do them again regardless. Japan, U.S, Ghana, Amsterdam, France only! booo! I need a vacation man! haha! I cant be the only one having these thoughts in my head. I wanna see the hyped countries and the quiet countries. I wanna take taxis to destinations and I wanna hike to destinations. I'm being a grandad before my time but I just feel like while I'm young I might aswell do what I can before I relax and reflect on my experiences.Im hitting up Sweden and Mexico this year so should be an interesting time. Sometimes I think I should say less and just do it but it aint that easy when I've got upcoming bills to pay. I will travel sooner or later for a longer period but let me just see where my current projects lead me.

Son Of A F****** Orange!

Argh! I woke up this morning thinking I had another day off and I look out my window to see that the roads are clear for transportation to commerce. Son of a F****** Orange! I was hoping and praying TFL and National Rail could give me the news I needed but nope, trains are running with minor delays so I'm up and awake to get ready for work. Gotta take the Bus and Three Trains today ("conveniently" the ones that are working) I aint happy!

Updates on my week long vegetarian expedition coming later on today. And I know some of you are waiting on part 18 and 19, they'll be up tonight as a sunday post, so scroll down in the late evening for that. Just heard that despite Surrey being -8 degrees, some kids still have to go to primary school there (just like yesterday)...now that headteacher is a son of a F****** orange! It's too cold for this, Im not in the mood, gonna be sporting the unfriendly frown all day listening to straight hip-hop, volumes turned up!!

Hehe I havent felt so giddy in a long while; the snow is so thick in my area that all transportation is rendered useless. You know what that means? (Snowball fight!!...nah Im not tryna catch pnuemonia out here) I get to be a bum for the day (cue well constructed dance move), so apart from continuing writing my script (not the blog one, the £million$ one) I think Im gonna be watching a few DVDs with the family. This is one of those rare occassions where we are all together in the house at the same time so I'm gonna try and cherish it because Im outta here soon. Speaking of movies I saw a couple trailers roaming around the Tube last night during the brilliant SuperBowl (What a game) that have got me waiting in anticipation for the Summer. I'm a film nut, whatever the genre (except teen horrors and chick flicks....ok I saw She's All That but it was with my sister man!) so Im looking forward to the following movies this year. Watch them, they're short trailers!

Scriptwriter Chronicles: MEN ON THE ROAD (Part 19)

Part 19 - The Undercover is Uncovered

Sebastian's room has an air of complication and contemplation. Awkwardness, confusion and guilt is summed up by the utter silence. He sits on one side of the bed half naked, head down with only small instances of built up breath. While Nadine sits on the other side of the bed, sheets wrapped around her body, head up looking directly into the light as if she were asking to be blinded from past events. Finally someone speaks....

Sebastian
I'm....gonna take a shower. He looks at Nadine who's back is still turned. He gets up and goes into the bathroom, as he shuts the door Nadine reaches for her clothes. She puts them on and head towards the door but stops when she sees his phone. She goes through it. GERALD is outside his own door and sees Nadine come out of Sebastian's and into her room, hair frizzled.

Ritchie
What's up?

Gerald
Huh? Nothing, nothing. Go and get ready, we gotta meet downstairs in 5 minutes. Ritchie goes inside leaving Gerald to tip toe across to the other side of the hallway. He looks at Nadine's door then opens Sebastian's. He's alarmed to see Nadine's underwear on the floor and turns around bumping into David. Shit! Don't scare me like that, jeeze!

David
The police are downstairs, they wanna take us for questioning at the station

Back at Jane's house, the girls are conversing in the living room. Jane attempts to access her phone but is stopped by Michelle....

So Kim how do you and Natalie know each other?

Kim
she tutors my younger sister in French. She's good

Ah I see, well a friend of Nat's is a friend of ours...for now, have a drink and go wild. Mobiles off!

Hmm. Hey Ritchie? Julian gets up and walks over to Ritchie leaving Nadine and Sebastian one seat away from each other. An akward silence until....

Hey David, I've been trying to get through..........police station!?! Josh looks up at evelyn...........is everything ok?................Julian aswell? Jane's eyes widen........................Josh is here with me dont worry. Ok.....yeah, please do.........wow. Ok bye! WOW ok here goes, David, Julian, Gerald Michelle looks up from the floor and the rest got caught up in some sort of robbery and had to be taken to the station fro questioning. They're all fine and are making their way home, well to here I guess.

Cameron and Kim look at each other in confused acknowledgement, Natalie and Jane look at each other, Michelle looks at Kim and Natalie whilst shaking her head and Evelyn and Josh hug.

Julian, David, Gerald, Nadine, Sebastian and Ritchie stand on the hard shoulder of the motorway. Everyone's bags bar Julian's are now in David's car. Julian slautes them and gets into his car...

David
What about the police? I've already called them, quite a while ago now come to think of it

Julian
Uncall them, I dunno. I've just gotta make it home. Gerald you take care of the group and the arrangements; enjoy yourselves and I'll see you when you get back

Sebastian
I dont think it's a good idea to go home just yet, just give it time, you both need to cool off

Julian
Does this seem cool enough? Julian shows Sebastian the text from Jane Seb my mind's made up, enjoy yourselves, break a leg Julian drives off, the rest get into David's car

Gerald
I feel like I should be there for him just in case, I cant even get through to Michelle

Ritchie
Lets just go have a good time, he's better off doing it by himself. If all else fails he'll call...or we'll call. They make their way to the tournament, 20 mins away

At Jane's house the fun, frolics and banter continue...

Evelyn leaves the house and crosses the street, her hurried footsteps are overshadowed by the argument between a young man and Kim who are at the bus stop. They stop when they see Evelyn from afar leave Jane's house and go into David's.

Listen, get it sorted properly this time! Im not gonna ask again

Somewhere up north, the crew have arrived at their destination. They register at the front desk and are allocated keys for their accomodation.

PART 19 COMING UP....

It's Throwback Time

Supposed to do this every friday in line with the pbleepd blog but I got caught up in listening to foxxhole radio (best radio show ever, too highlarious!) and didnt get back in til 3. Today I had to bring a song/video that never gets old. R'n'B at it's very best and I DARE someone not to feel it. Donnell Jones is highly underrated and its too bad (or maybe good) that he hasnt blown and doesnt get the props he deserves. When this track came out I remember I was doing my SATs exams in secondary school and every day while I "studied" I made sure this was on the playlist. I'd go far to say it's my favourite ever track off my favourite ever album. Enjoy!
