Part 19 - The Undercover is Uncovered

Sebastian's room has an air of complication and contemplation. Awkwardness, confusion and guilt is summed up by the utter silence. He sits on one side of the bed half naked, head down with only small instances of built up breath. While Nadine sits on the other side of the bed, sheets wrapped around her body, head up looking directly into the light as if she were asking to be blinded from past events. Finally someone speaks....

Sebastian
I'm....gonna take a shower. He looks at Nadine who's back is still turned. He gets up and goes into the bathroom, as he shuts the door Nadine reaches for her clothes. She puts them on and head towards the door but stops when she sees his phone. She goes through it. GERALD is outside his own door and sees Nadine come out of Sebastian's and into her room, hair frizzled.

Ritchie
What's up?

Gerald
Huh? Nothing, nothing. Go and get ready, we gotta meet downstairs in 5 minutes. Ritchie goes inside leaving Gerald to tip toe across to the other side of the hallway. He looks at Nadine's door then opens Sebastian's. He's alarmed to see Nadine's underwear on the floor and turns around bumping into David. Shit! Don't scare me like that, jeeze!

David
The police are downstairs, they wanna take us for questioning at the station

Back at Jane's house, the girls are conversing in the living room. Jane attempts to access her phone but is stopped by Michelle....

Jane
So Kim how do you and Natalie know each other?

Kim
she tutors my younger sister in French. She's good

Natalie
Oui Oui

Michelle
Ah I see, well a friend of Nat's is a friend of ours...for now, have a drink and go wild. Mobiles off!

Kim
Thanks. I'd rather not, I'm expecting an important phone call

Michelle
From your boyfriend?

Kim
Something like that

Across the road at David's House.....

Cameron
You guys f***** up!! How could you get the wrong man!?!...............I don't wanna hear it! So where is he now?...........What!!?..............Then make your way there!..........I don't care! I'm not being held responsible for this s***!

downstairs Josh and Evelyn can just about hear Cameron's screams

Your brother sounds mad

Josh
You should see when he's angry

Evelyn
Here, taste this. Josh smiles as she feeds him some stew You like? Josh Nods Good. So! this guy who you "claim" to have been seen by the girls, what colour was his car?

Josh

Evelyn
Julian's car isn't Red

Josh
I didn't say the man was Julian

Evelyn
Whhaaaaa? Cameron walks into the kitchen Everything ok Cam? I heard a lot of shouting. I've made dinner

Cameron
Yeah. Listen can that wait? I actually have to go across the road to see someone at that house you came out of

Evelyn
Jane's? You saw me?

Cameron
Yeah I have to see someone there

Evelyn
Who?

At the police station, the group have all written out personal statements along with JULIAN who was brought in also. David is the last one being questioned.

Julian
Your personal statement was suspiciously quick from what I saw

Nadine (shaky)
I write fast, and I get nervous in those situations

Julian
Hmm. Hey Ritchie? Julian gets up and walks over to Ritchie leaving Nadine and Sebastian one seat away from each other. An akward silence until....

Nadine

Sebastian
So.....

Nadine
Who is Jane? Sebastian looks at her I saw a couple texts. Is she who I think she is? That wouldnt be a good look for you now Seb would it?

Sebastian

Nadine
If I what? Huh? What!?

Sebastian
It's not what you think it is but if you open your mouth and stutter a single lie I'll let Kim know how good of a f*** you were.

Gerald
Everything alright over here?

Sebastian
Yeah

Nadine

Gerald
Ok Gerald looks at them. David comes out.

David
Can I make my call now?

At Jane's house.....

Jane
"You know what looks good on you? me" Laughter Seba...I mean Julian gave me that

Michelle
Did you just say? Natalie interrupts

"Your legs must be tired because you've been running through my mind all day"

Girls
Yep! Classic Corny!

Kim
"Those condoms are still in your draw, there's no way I have them" silence

Michelle
That's....not...a corny line. That's not even funny

Kim
It's reality she breaks down

Jane
Ok uhm,....

Natalie
I'm gonna take her in the kitchen Michelle gets up but Natalie pushes her back down You stay there

Michelle
Pssh They go into the kitchen

Natalie
Hey you ok? rubs Kim's back and pours herself a drink

Kim
I'm sorry, I'm just really down. I love him, so much that I'm willing to do anything to get him back

Natalie
That's natural pours Kim a drink

Kim
No it's not, it's been 9 months and I'm crazy for him wipes her tears suddenly and turns serious If I cant have him then nobody will

Natalie
jeeze! what's his name? starts drinking

Kim
Sebastian Natalie spits her drink out; Michelle who has been eavesdropping jumps back in shock and drops her glass on the floor. The doorbell rings and Jane who shakes her head at Michelle answers

More visitors? Hi

Evelyn
Cameron here wanted to speak to Kim and Josh is here to see his future aunties

I need to speak to you

Evelyn's phone rings and they all stare

Evelyn
Hey David, I've been trying to get through..........police station!?! Josh looks up at evelyn...........is everything ok?................Julian aswell? Jane's eyes widen........................Josh is here with me dont worry. Ok.....yeah, please do.........wow. Ok bye! WOW ok here goes, David, Julian, Gerald Michelle looks up from the floor and the rest got caught up in some sort of robbery and had to be taken to the station fro questioning. They're all fine and are making their way home, well to here I guess.

Cameron and Kim look at each other in confused acknowledgement, Natalie and Jane look at each other, Michelle looks at Kim and Natalie whilst shaking her head and Evelyn and Josh hug.
